Things You Can Do When You’re Feeling Uninspired

Switching gears and starting a new blog post topic relating to creativity. These are my current thoughts and whether you disagree or not, i’d love to hear your thoughts as well. One thing that recently dawned on me is that I tend to have ideas and tend to do things when I’m inspired. It hits me in the middle of the night or sometimes during the day. Some of my best decisions or work come from being inspired by an idea, something or someone (And I make the time to put it into action.) Sometimes its from new music that I’ve recently heard or by something that visually pops up on my social media feed. But if its not readily available, it needs to be sought out. So that’s where I found myself recently. I needed to seek out inspiration. Whats interesting is that inspiration doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Nor do you have to go far to find it. It might just be about doing something different. Something that might be …

17 Tips On Starting Your Own Business From 9 Women Who Did It.

Today’s post was inspired by some real questions I had a few years ago when I started my blog and still continue to ask today as I start a new freelancing career. How do you start your own business? And what does it take to become successful? The funny thing is, I never asked anyone for advice on how to start my own business. I googled, I tried things, and did my research, but I never actually talked to anyone about how to start one. So I finally did. I asked nine talented female entrepreneurs in the decor, kids and fashion space, about THE best things they did when starting their own businesses. And what I learned was absolutely golden and not to mention diverse. All of them are truly inspiring and I’m so fortunate to have crossed paths with them, whether in person or on Instagram. If you’re thinking about making that leap, get ready because you’re about to get proven, solid advice on how to successfully start and grow your business from nine different women who did it. Decor …

The Instagramer You Need To Follow…For Your Kids – Meet Loren Casas, Founder of Little Soul

I’m excited to share my next mom/entrepreneur on the series #Creator&Curator, who I think naturally embodies the spirit of creator! I ‘met’ Loren on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her feed. You could say it was love at first sight 😉 So I ‘followed’ her and when I had the idea for this series, I knew I had to reach out to her for an interview. She was busy but she agreed! But first, let me explain why I fell in love with Loren’s feed and why she is the Instagrammer to follow. If you go there (@thomasalm3ida), you’ll not only see really adorable photos of her son Thomas, you’ll find all the different creative projects they do together, almost on a daily basis. And when I mean creative, I cannot even begin to explain to you how creative I think this young mom is! What I love most about her is that every project is something both parent and child can appreciate. She shows us how you can help foster creativity and learning in your child without paying an arm …

A PLACE OF HER OWN

This coming Thursday July 31st, is the opening of an art exhibition presented by the Asian American Women Artists Association (AAWAA), which involves healing for Asian Pacific American (APA) women and women of color through expressive arts. The exhibition is titled: A PLACE OF HER OWN. I first came across AAWAA about 3 years ago and visited the same exhibit that year. Having been a therapist, this type of exhibition resonated with me in thinking about my clients. But now as a mother, it resonates with me in a different way. It’s been a long time since I’ve done something without an agenda. It’s been tough to find A PLACE OF MY OWN where I can just be in the pure enjoyment of an experience. But when I saw the invitation to this event come in through my email, I knew, I just had to go. I plan on going this Thursday (if all goes well) and when I think about it, I can imagine myself in a place just taking in art, natural beauty and being in good company. I’m excited …
